Our client is an established intimate apparel company with a great collaborative and dedicated culture. They are now looking for a Director of Sales to spearhead their private label business in the US. This role will have a lot of accountability in a dynamic leadership position managing a small team. This would be a remote role with some travel required.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the VP of Sales, you would be responsible for the company’s private-label sales business which is their largest segment, and also where there is a lot of opportunity to expand. You would drive strategy and revenue plans by key account to increase account penetration, foster existing retail partnerships for maximum growth and identify new private label revenue streams, and manage and develop a highly efficient account management team with close cross-functional collaboration (design, production, sourcing, compliance, etc.).

 

You would need proven experience in intimate apparel or lady’s fashion apparel in a senior sales role, strong communication skills, proactive, courteous, collaborative, analytical, and have a strong sense of urgency. You would also need to be able to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, have strong project management and attention to detail, and be able to juggle multiple tasks in a dynamic retail environment. It would be important to be open to travel as it would be 25% of your role and this would include visiting customers and company locations, and going to market weeks and trade shows.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Sales
  • 10+ years of Account Management experience in Apparel Wholesale or Retail Buying or Selling, preferably with companies producing or distributing Private Label merchandise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience selling and developing Private Label products for the Mass, Mid-tier/Department Store, and/or Specialty retailer channels.
  • Current relationships and the ability to leverage them to drive incremental sales
  • Knowledge of pricing structures, competitive shopping practices, and various sales strategies
  • Ability to provide direction to Product Development team for trend-right products that address available white spaces
  • A change agent, forward thinker, and creative problem solver that thrives on challenges
  • Amiable, courteous, and confident in social situations
  • Analytical; able to synthesize issues and identify a valid, actionable conclusion
  • Promptly and consistently follows up with customers and co-workers
  • Inquisitive, loves to learn, and embraces & analyzes results
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time to individual accounts, design studio and factories, industry-wide market weeks, and management meetings

Compensation: 150-175K + bonuses
