Our client, a rapidly growing consumer subscription app within the sports industry is hiring for their first CMO. Our client is VC funded, profitable with approximately $10m in ARR and 40k subscribers, looking to reach the next stage of growth. With their next round of funding approaching soon and much of that to be focused on GTM build out, our client is looking for a proven marketing leader from consumer subscription mobile apps to take them to the next level.
This person will work alongside the founding and current executive team, owning all aspects of marketing from end to end. You’ll oversee the team working on brand, content, creative, lifecycle and performance marketing, with a particular focus on developing the brand and consistency in their messaging. This person will be building, pushing the brand forward and defining how the company is perceived, but should also be comfortable executing working closely with the team. Our clients is growing in domestic and international markets, so previous experience on a global scale would be a big advantage. You will have carte blanche to build out the GTM team over the long term, along with a seven figure marketing budget.

Responsibilities:
- Build and execute the GTM for features, partnerships, content and markets
- Define and elevate the brand across web, app, content, social, PR, global variants
- Lead content & community — editorial, insights, social, engagement, experiential
- Own paid acquisition & performance across DSP, social, search, and affiliates
- Scale full-funnel growth via cohort analysis, ICP work, and A/B experimentation
- Partner tightly with product to align launches and messaging
- Hire and lead the marketing team (generalists + market pods)
- Own budget and external partners while staying hands-on where it matters
Requirements:
- 8+ years in consumer app marketing; 4+ in senior leadership (Head/VP/CMO)
- Evidence of building or repositioning a consumer brand end-to-end
- Content/editorial fluency — knows how to make content convert and compound
- Deep paid media + programmatic experience (DSPs, social, search)
- Analytical operator — CAC/LTV/re-engagement/retention fluent; cohort-native
- Startup-speed executor — rolls sleeves up, not “just orchestration”
- Global view — has localized, segmented, and scaled into new markets
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid or Remote)
Full Time | Reports to CEO
Salary: $375k base (~$500k total comp) depending on experience.
