Our client, a mission-driven social enterprise dedicated to improving access to healthy, affordable meals is hiring for a Director of Development to join their accomplished team. The Director of Development will lead philanthropic fundraising efforts. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is an individual contributor role ideal for a self-starter who thrives in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment. This person will design and execute a comprehensive development strategy to secure major gifts, grants, and partnerships that expand our mission and community impact.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all philanthropic development initiatives, including major gifts, grants, and corporate partnerships.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Partner closely with the CEO on prospecting, engagement, and cultivation strategies.
- Identify and research new funding opportunities to support organizational goals.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan with annual and multi-year targets.
- Manage proposals and submissions from concept through completion.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align funding opportunities with programs and priorities.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO on long-term development strategy.
- Represent the organization professionally at events, conferences, and meetings.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in fundraising and development, with a proven track record securing major gifts and grants.
- Established credibility and relationships with philanthropic foundations preferred.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience building fundraising programs, processes, and donor relationships from the ground up.
