The CFO is the highest-ranking financial executive in the organization, responsible for balancing revenues and expenses, overseeing financial planning, and building a high-performing finance team over time. Beyond day-to-day financial health, the CFO serves as a strategic partner to the CEO, helping shape the company’s growth plan, guiding investment decisions, and communicating with investors. This role reports directly to the CEO and is part of the senior leadership team.
This is a hybrid position in Orlando, Florida.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Leadership – Oversee accounting, finance, and billing functions across all entities. Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and other applicable standards. Manage monthly consolidated financial statements, including software and professional services revenue recognition and intercompany accounting.
- Strategic Planning & Forecasting – Prepare budgets, financial projections, and KPI reporting; monitor performance against plan; draw insights from metrics and forecasts. Support product and market-expansion decisions with rigorous financial analysis.
- Capital Strategy & Investor Relations – Play a core role in the capital-raising process, including frequent data room updates (equity and debt). Actively participate in fundraising due diligence and pitchbook preparations. Provide insights on business model and performance during fundraising roadshows.
- Cash Flow & Risk Management – Manage liquidity, working capital, and cash flow. Assess financial risks and ensure appropriate controls, including SOC 2 and other compliance frameworks. Maintain a robust control environment to support growth and global expansion.
- Operational Finance & Administration – Oversee vendor payments, customer billing, payroll, and reimbursements. Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and insurance providers. Maintain cap tables and administer stock-option and bonus plans.
- Board & Leadership Support – Prepare materials for board meetings and executive reviews. Serve as the financial voice on the executive team, providing strategic advice on initiatives and cost-management opportunities.
- People & Culture – Build and lead a small finance team. Contribute to onboarding, reviews, and benefits administration while fostering openness and teamwork.
- Global Operations – Act as primary facilities contact for U.S. and overseas offices. Support international expansion and tax planning (including IT-development tax credits). Coordinate global insurance coverage.
Candidate Profile
- 5–10 years of financial leadership experience in high-growth, venture-funded software/SaaS companies.
- Demonstrated success raising equity and debt capital and managing investor relationships.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP; exposure to international accounting and tax planning; experience with cap tables and equity-option plans.
- Expertise with software-revenue recognition, subscription billing, and recurring-revenue models.
- Strong operational skills in cash-flow modeling, forecasting, risk management, and process improvement.
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and motivate a global finance team.
- High integrity, results orientation, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
- CPA required; MBA, CFA, or other advanced credentials are a plus.
Compensation
- $170,000 – 190,000 base
