Our client, a Direct to Garment Print (DTG) producer in the Print on Demand (POD) apparel fulfillment industry is seeking its first Controller. As we continue our rapid growth, we need a strategic financial leader to oversee and enhance our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance in all financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, team leadership, and system upgrades. 

Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Direct all accounting functions, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), general ledger management, and financial reporting.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.

  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal control procedures, continuously identifying and addressing areas for improvement.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data to provide insights, support decision-making, and identify potential risks or opportunities.

  • Compliance:  Ensure all financial transactions and reporting comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting staff, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.

  • System Upgrades and Process Improvements: Lead the migration to new accounting software to support the company’s growth.

  • Support capital-raising activities.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a Controller role

  • Deep understanding of GAAP and accounting principles and regulations

  • Proven experience in managing accounting functions in a midsize business, preferably within the manufacturing sector

  • Experience in sourcing and implementing new accounting software systems

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with other accounting software

  • Experience working with overseas teams 

  • Experience as a founding Controller is preferred.

  • Experience packaging financials for fund sources is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 depending on experience
  • Health and Dental benefits (after 90 days of employment)
  • 15 days PTO
  • 401k  
  • 6 paid holidays per year

Location:

This is an onsite position in San Jose on a hybrid schedule.
