Assistant Product Illustrator

Our client, a global leader in the consumer goods space is looking for an Illustrator to join their Berkeley team. The company creates bespoke products for leading US brands including Home Depot, Walmart, Target, Lowes, TJ Maxx and more, and is continuing to grow in the US. This role will work closely with the wider creative team, working on everything from production ideation to design and concepts. This person should have a portfolio showcasing illustration of anatomy, showing a strong understanding of shadow and light. 


  • Generate creative and original illustrations that align with product design concepts and brand guidelines.
  • Explain the concepts, function and construction of the items verbally, to the side of concepts.
  • Transform abstract ideas into visually appealing sketches, storyboards, and finalized illustrations.
  • Create Spec Sheets using SVI templates, populating information on the sheets as needed
  • Work closely with product designers, engineers, and marketing teams to understand project requirements and design objectives.
  • Collaborate in brainstorming sessions to contribute unique visual perspectives to enhance product aesthetics.
  • Ensure that all illustrations maintain consistency with the company’s brand identity and design principles.
  • Uphold high standards of quality and artistic integrity in all visual elements.
  • Adapt illustrations to various mediums, including packaging, marketing materials, and digital platforms, while maintaining design coherence.
  • Manage and prioritize workload to meet project deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality illustrations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Illustration, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Illustrator, preferably within the CPG or product design industry.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard illustration software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong conceptual and creative thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of illustration styles and projects.

Salary: $72,000/yr – $104,000/yr DOE
