Role Overview: Our client is seeking a self sufficient, driven Account Executive with a demonstrated track record of success in the mid-market segment. The ideal candidate will bring experience in a similar capacity, ideally within SaaS, and will excel in an ever changing, startup environment. This role demands an individual capable of independently building and managing a book of business (BoB), thinking 3 steps ahead and collaborating effectively with marketing, customer success, and other key stakeholders to drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation & Pipeline Management: This person should have a hunter mentality and experience managing the end to end sales process, form prospect to close ensuring revenue targets are met or exceeded, while leveraging inbound leads and collaborating with the marketing team to create additional opportunities, building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Sales Process Management: Conduct discovery calls, product demos, and negotiations, managing the sales process from lead to post close.
  • Customer Relationship Management: The AE will maintain strong relationships with mid-market clients (50-500 employees) and ensure customer satisfaction for at least the first 6 months post-sale.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the Head of Marketing and Customer Success Managers to align on strategy and ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency in HubSpot CRM. Experience using Sales Navigator, Apollo, Rift, and other tools to manage and track sales activities are a plus.
  • Sales Strategy: Contribute to sales strategies and initiatives aimed at growing Plane’s mid-market presence, adapting and iterating on strategies based on performance and market feedback.
  • Resourcefulness: The AE will demonstrate resourcefulness in handling a dynamic sales environment, proactively generating new opportunities and managing existing and incoming inquiries.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a sales role, with a focus on mid-market accounts. Previous experience as a first AE in a high-growth startup, especially within HR SaaS, is highly preferred.
  • Track Record: A proven track record of building and managing a book of business, with a history of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in previous roles.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience’s needs. Clear and concise communication!
  • Sales Process: Knowledge reflecting 2-6+ month deals from discovery, demo, closing and post close relationship management.
  • CRM & Tools: Proficiency in HubSpot CRM and other sales tools like Sales Navigator, Apollo, and Rift.
