HEAD OF PRODUCT MARKETING Remote (No California) | Phoenix/Tempe area preferred | Full-time
Our client is on a mission to transform the way an entire industry buys and sells — and they're winning. They've powered over $1 billion in transactions, made the Inc. 5000 nine years running, and they're still early in the market opportunity ahead of them. The category is massive, the tailwinds are real, and this company is the category leader.
They are not looking for someone to run launches and manage campaigns. They have that. What they don't have — and urgently need — is someone who can define why they win.
Messaging today is inconsistent. The narrative isn't sharp. Product, Sales, and Marketing are not aligned around a single, differentiated story. This hire changes that. You'll come in, diagnose what's broken, build clear positioning from the ground up, and make sure every customer touchpoint — website, sales conversation, campaign, product — reflects a coherent, compelling point of view.
This is a builder role at a company that has the momentum, the market position, and the CMO buy-in to actually execute on what you build.
What you'll own:
- Define clear, differentiated positioning — the answer to “why us, why now, for whom” — and ensure it holds across the entire company
- Lead GTM strategy from customer insight through launch and adoption, not just execution
- Synthesize competitive, customer, and market signals into a strong, defensible point of view
- Act as a strategic partner to Product — push back when features aren't differentiated, shape what gets built based on market opportunity
- Align Sales, Marketing, CS, and Product around a shared narrative and raise the bar for how the company communicates value
- Build repeatable frameworks for positioning, messaging, and GTM that scale as the team grows
- Measure and continuously improve the impact of your work on pipeline, conversion, win rates, and adoption

What you bring:
- 7–12+ years in B2B SaaS product marketing with clear ownership of positioning and GTM strategy
- Proven ability to define differentiated positioning in competitive markets — not just execute against a framework someone else built
- Track record of influencing product strategy and challenging stakeholders constructively
- Experience in high-growth or ambiguous environments where you had to build, not inherit
- Strong writing and storytelling skills; you simplify complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives
- AI fluency — you actively use modern tools to accelerate your work and improve decision-making
- Bachelor's degree required
Bonus points for:
- Background in eCommerce, marketplace, or vertical SaaS
- Experience with PLG or self-serve growth models
- Experience rebuilding or repositioning an existing product or company
Compensation: $170,000–$200,000 base + 15–20% performance bonus + equity options
Location: Phoenix/Tempe area preferred (2 days/week in office). Remote considered for exceptional candidates outside California. Remote employees expected to travel to HQ for onboarding and approximately 1–2x per quarter.
